ModelForge platform update preflight

The Console's Update preflight view reads GET /api/v1/admin/updates/preflight. The endpoint is administrator-only and read-only. It reports the current running API release identity and the evidence available for a proposed target.

The current schema revision in this view is the schema target declared by the running application build. The preflight does not read the database's applied Alembic revision; use the database migration checks when that value is required.

This source line does not provide an approved platform-update manifest. Until one is configured, the approved version, release notes, target schema, schema and breaking impact, backup requirement, and approved-artifact provenance are UNKNOWN. Missing current API build provenance fields are also UNKNOWN. A preflight with these gaps is INCOMPLETE; UNKNOWN does not mean that no backup is required.

The current provenance status is AVAILABLE only when source commit, build timestamp, and image digest are all supplied by the API build. These values are displayed build metadata, not an independent signature or artifact verification. The approved target's provenance remains UNKNOWN without approved release metadata.

The endpoint does not fetch packages, persist a plan, write release state, create or verify backups, or deploy an update. It has no execution operation. An operator must review approved release evidence, impact, and verified backup readiness before planning maintenance; execution remains human-controlled.
